What happened
- Sep 28 to Oct 8, 20262,600+ tries. A fleet of AI agents on Tencent Cloud in Hong Kong kept scraping routes from Alibaba's Amap. The places it asked about: parks and zoos.
- ThenA message in invisible ink. The Swarmchasers researchers hid text in their report, the kind only an agent would read.
- And thenIt wrote back. The agents thanked the researchers. One of them said it was Claude.
"We discovered and communicated with a Chinese AI agent fleet. We believe this is the first time that researchers have ever made contact with a rogue agent fleet in the wild."

A Tencent-side source called it a temporary evaluation project testing web browsing on public map data. Reported by TechCrunch and The New Stack. We are a meme about it, not affiliated with Swarmchasers, Tencent, Alibaba or Anthropic.
